انطلقت حملة لقاح ضد شلل الأطفال في منطقة “نبع السلام” شمالي سوريا، بدعم من مركز الدعم والتنسيق السوري التابع لولاية شانلي أورفة التركية.
وستشارك طواقم طبية مختصة في الحملة، التي سيستفيد منها عشرات آلاف الأطفال السوريين، في منطقتي رأس العين وتل أبيض.
ومن المتوقع أن تنتهي الحملة، التي تهدف عند اكتمالها إلى القضاء على شلل الأطفال، خلال شهر واحد.
A polio vaccination campaign was launched in the “Peace Spring” in northern Syria, with the support of the Syrian Support and Coordination Center of the Turkish province of anlıurfa.
Specialized medical teams will participate in the campaign, which will benefit tens of thousands of Syrian children, in the areas of Ras al-Ain and Tal Abyad.
The campaign, which aims to eradicate polio, is expected to end within one month.
The official in charge of health affairs in the local council of Ras al-Ain city, Abdullah Othman, said that it is planned that about 45,000 children in the cities of Ras al-Ain and Tal Abyad and their countryside will benefit from the vaccination campaign.
He indicated that health centers and mobile teams will provide support for the vaccine campaign.
He added, “We will go around the houses one by one and provide this vaccine to all children living in the area.”
He also expressed his thanks to all the health personnel participating in the campaign.
On October 9, 2019, the Turkish army, with the participation of the Syrian National Army, launched Operation Peace Spring in the area east of the Euphrates River in northern Syria, to purge it from the YBK / PKK and ISIS terrorists, and create a safe area for the return Syrian refugees to their country.
On the 17th of the aforementioned month, the Turkish army suspended the operation after Ankara and Washington reached an agreement to withdraw terrorists from the region, and it was followed by an agreement with Russia in Sochi on the 22nd.
