According to the US State Department Special Representative for Iran and Venezuela Elliott Abrams
The United States announced on Monday that it will destroy any Iranian long-range missile shipments it may deliver to Venezuela.
“The transfer of long-range missiles from Iran to Venezuela is unacceptable to the United States and will not be tolerated or permitted,” said Elliott Abrams, the US State Department’s Special Representative for Iran and Venezuela, to Fox News, without providing any confirmed information about sending shipments of these Rockets.
He added, “We will do our utmost to stop shipments of long-range missiles, and if they somehow reach Venezuela, they will be destroyed there.”
The US official added, “Iran shipped missiles to the Houthis, so we know that they are ready, willing and able to ship them to Venezuela, and there are other potential buyers.”
Abrams emphasized that “any process of handing over Iranian weapons destabilizes South America and the Caribbean, and it poses a threat to Venezuela’s neighbors, especially Brazil, Colombia and Guyana.”
