He wrote in a tweet, “The elections must end on November 3.”
On Friday, US President Donald Trump described the Supreme Court’s decision to extend the voting period in the upcoming presidential elections as “madness.”
Trump wrote in a tweet on Twitter: “This decision is crazy and very bad for our country, can we imagine what will happen in 9 days? The elections must end on November 3.”
On Thursday, the Supreme Court allowed an extension of the deadline for accepting ballot papers for the US presidential elections by mail in North Carolina, and rejected a request from the Trump administration to cancel the extension.
The court ruling means the state can count votes in the mail within 9 days after the vote as long as they are postmarked by Election Day.
Opinion polls show the Democratic candidate for the US presidency, Joe Biden, by 7 points over his Republican rival, the incumbent President Donald Trump, 4 days before the upcoming elections on November 3.
Analysts believe Trump still has a chance to win, similar to what happened in the 2016 election
