Chairman of the Board of Directors of the “Bogaz Egy” Company for Defense Technologies, Fatih Aslan, to Anadolu Agency: – The system is known as “Ilter Shield”, and it works on detecting and monitoring drones, and neutralizing them. We received large requests from the Turkish army, and our company has two years of intensive work to fulfill these requests.
The Turkish company “Bogaz EG”, which specializes in defense technologies, has developed a system for detection and prevention of drones.
The company’s board chairman, Fatih Aslan, told Anadolu Agency that it was established in Ankara in 2017, and continues its activities in the IT-related business complex.
Aslan added that his company has been in the defense media production business for 3 years, having been focusing for some time on drone repellent technologies.
He explained that the company’s systems for detection and prevention of marches can produce more flexible, effective and intelligent solutions that do not harm health, unlike commonly used rifle models.
- “Elter Shield” … monitoring of marches and neutralizing them The spokesman stated that the system developed by his company is known as “Elter Shield”, as it works to detect, monitor and neutralize drones. He pointed out that the system has been tested in some fields for one year, and has demonstrated a high level of performance and the ability to detect and neutralize drones. And he added, “Our company has completed the delivery of the Presidency of the Republic and the ground forces of the Turkish army and the gendarmerie, about 350 pieces of the Ilter shield system to monitor and neutralize marches.” He confirmed that the system will actually enter service in the Turkish army and the Shield Forces (especially) as of this November. Regarding the system’s operation, Aslan said, “The system works automatically, as it begins to block the drone frequencies upon detection.” He added, “There is also a second version of this system equipped with radar, which we seek to introduce within the armed forces’ owners during the next year.” He pointed out that there are 3 basic techniques for marches that are known around the world, as terrorists use systems similar to commercial products to make them easy to obtain and cheap to price. He stressed the full ability of the Elter Shield system to detect and neutralize all types of drones, with the exception of autonomous vehicles. He added, “As for the new version, its radar has the ability to detect all types of flying objects without exception.”
- A system that impersonates frequencies to control marches Aslan said, “The terrorists are also improving their technology, and we saw that during the 3-year research and development process.” He continued, “The terrorists’ technologies in this field have always been below the standard, but they have recently been able to develop controls and achieve higher heights in autonomous vehicles guided by the Global Positioning System (GPS).” “The systems that we have developed can detect and neutralize all types of drones within a radius of 5 kilometers,” he added. He added, “The system contains a very important feature, such as the ability to impersonate the frequencies to control the marches, and enable them to land in the required areas.” He continued, “This technology can also be used to change the coordinates of the target places, by providing them with imaginary coordinates.” He noted that his company had succeeded in developing a system known as “Ilter-2”, to counter the threats emanating from drones, which are being controlled via satellites. He stated that the system is able to control paths within a radius of about 150 km, by using the “satellite navigation system”. And he announced that they had received large requests from the Turkish army in this regard, as his company had “two years of intense work to fulfill these requests.” He confirmed that his company maintains close commercial relations with some European companies, as it intends to export its products to Europe from June 2021.
