The Israeli army said, on Monday, that it had summoned fighter jets to the Gaza Strip, after it was suspected that a “helicopter” had infiltrated from the Strip to Israel.
“Earlier today, fighter jets were called to the Gaza Strip, following a suspicion that a helicopter had infiltrated from the Gaza Strip into Israel,” said Avichai Adrai, a spokesman for the Israeli army, in a written statement sent to Anadolu Agency.
He explained that the army later found a helicopter, during combing operations in the area, without immediately clearing whether it was the suspected helicopter.
In recent months, the Israeli army announced that it had shot down helicopters, which it said it had detected penetrating the borders coming from the Gaza Strip.
No Palestinian party has claimed responsibility for launching the helicopter
