The workshop contained two axes. The first, in which Ilham Omar, the administrator in the Women’s Office, spoke about the importance of women’s participation in political life and encouraging them to reach the highest ranks and levels, referring to the role of women in the north and east of Syria, as today they complete the work of men and bear many burdens other than childbirth and the home.
Omar also praised the Euphrates woman, especially the Deir ez-Zor woman, who confronted ISIS, and she was the same as the case of the women of northern and eastern Syria, supporting men and going with him side by side to get out of all the crises that the region and Syria in general suffer from.
While Omar asked the audience about the principle of democracy, which the women present discussed at length, Omar noted that women’s participation in the political process reflects civilized sophistication and is considered a true representation of democracy.
Then the administrator, Jian Mahmoud, addressed the second axis, in which she talked about the most important obstacles that prevent women from participating in the political process, these various obstacles, including social, economic, legislative and women-specific obstacles.
Mahmoud mentioned some of the local and international examples of women who have been at the forefront of politics and have excelled in these areas.
At the end of the workshop, the attendees were divided into groups and a training activity was developed on how to activate the participation of women in political life, to commend the attendees with this event and enrich it with activity and real and effective participation, calling for the continuation of such activities.

نظم مكتب المرأة في مجلس سوريا الديمقراطية ورشة عمل جديدة في مدينة دير الزور اليوم تحت عنوان “أهمية مشاركة المرأة بالسياسة” بمشاركة أعضاء من الإدارات الذاتية والمدنية والمؤسسات والأحزاب وذلك بهدف تشجيع المرأة على أخذ الدور البارز والريادي في هذا المجال .
احتوت الورشة على محورين الأول تحدثت فيه إلهام عمر الإدارية في مكتب المرأة عن أهمية مشاركة المرأة بالحياة السياسية وتشجيعها للوصول إلى أعلى المراتب والمستويات مشيرة لدور النساء في منطقة شمال وشرق سوريا فهن اليوم يكملن عمل الرجال ويتحملن الكثير من الأعباء غير الانجاب والمنزل .
كما أشادت عمر بالمرأة الفراتية وخصوصا المرأة الديرية التي تصدت لداعش وكانت حالها حال نساء شمال وشرق سوريا رديفا للرجل وماضية معه جنبا إلى جنب للخروج من كافة الأزمات التي تعانيها المنطقة وسوريا عامة .
فيما سألت عمر الحضور عن مبدأ الديمقراطية الذي استفاضت النساء الحاضرات في الحديث عنه لتنوه عمر أن مشاركة النساء بالعملية السياسية يعبر عن الرقي الحضاري ويعتبر تمثيلا حقيقيا للديمقراطية .
ثم تناولت الإدارية جيان محمود المحور الثاني تحدثت فيه عن أهم المعوقات التي تمنع المرأة من المشاركة في العملية السياسية هذه المعوقات المختلفة من إجتماعية واقتصادية وتشريعية ومعوقات خاصة بالمرأة .
وذكرت محمود بعضا من النماذج المحلية والعالمية لنساء تصدرن عتبة السياسة وأبدعن في هذه النواحي.
وفي ختام الورشة تم تقسيم الحضور إلى مجموعات ووضع نشاط تدريبي حول كيفية تفعيل مشاركة المرأة بالحياة السياسية ليثني الحضور بهذه الفعالية ومثرينها بالنشاط والمشاركة الحقيقية والفعالة وداعين إلى الاستمرار بمثل هذه النشاطات
