Soldiers from the British army are set to start driving fuel trucks from refineries to petrol stations to make up for the shortage of truck drivers that has caused the fuel crisis. Estimates put the shortage of truck drivers at 100,000 also includes drivers of food trucks.
Britain’s exit from the European Union has caused thousands of truck drivers from eastern European countries to leave Britain and seek job opportunities in the European Union. However, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson insisted that there was no connection between Britain’s exit from the European Union and the current fuel crisis.
