Last July, Al-Bitar accused 10 Lebanese officials and officers, including two MPs from Amal and the former prime minister, Hassan Diab.
Earlier on Thursday, a court rejected a second request to dismiss Al-Bitar, submitted by two representatives of “Amal”, Ali Hassan Khalil and Ghazi Zuaiter, accusing the judge of “violating the constitutional principles, and exceeding the powers of the House of Representatives and the Supreme Council to try presidents and ministers.”
There are fears in the Lebanese political circles that the investigation file into the port explosion may explode the political and governmental situation, in light of media reports that Al-Bitar is heading to accuse the “Hezbollah” group.
On Monday, the Secretary-General of “Hezbollah”, Hassan Nasrallah, considered that Al-Bitar’s work “involves political targeting and has nothing to do with justice.”
And the Lebanese presidency announced the postponement of a session of the Council of Ministers, which was scheduled for Wednesday. While the presidency did not give a reason for the delay.
An informed source told Anadolu Agency that the delay came after the ministers of “Hezbollah” and “Amal” demanded “to urge the circumstances surrounding the investigation into the explosion of a port, and to take a position on this issue.”
On August 4, 2020, a massive explosion occurred in the port, killing 217 people and wounding about 7,000 others, as well as massive material damage to residential and commercial buildings.
According to preliminary official information, the explosion occurred in the 12 berth of the port, which the authorities say contained about 2,750 tons of ammonium nitrate, which had been confiscated from a ship and stored since 2014.

Pazartesi günü, “Hizbullah” Genel Sekreteri Hassan Nasrallah, Al-Bitar’ın çalışmasının “siyasi hedeflemeyi içerdiğini ve adaletle hiçbir ilgisi olmadığını” belirtti.
Lübnan cumhurbaşkanlığı da Çarşamba günü yapılması planlanan Bakanlar Kurulu toplantısının ertelendiğini duyurdu. Cumhurbaşkanlığı ise gecikme için bir neden vermedi.
Anadolu’ya bilgi veren bir kaynak, ertelemenin “Hizbullah” ve “Amal” bakanlarının “bir liman patlamasıyla ilgili soruşturmayı çevreleyen koşulları zorlamak ve bu konuda tavır almak” talebi üzerine geldiğini söyledi.
4 Ağustos 2020’de limanda büyük bir patlama meydana geldi, 217 kişi öldü ve yaklaşık 7.000 kişi yaralandı, ayrıca konut ve ticari binalarda büyük maddi hasar meydana geldi.

وفي يوليو / تموز الماضي، ادعى البيطار على 10 مسؤولين وضباط لبنانيين، بينهم نائبان من “أمل” ورئيس الحكومة السابق، حسان دياب.
وفي وقت سابق الخميس، رفضت محكمة طلبا ثانيا لعزل البيطار، تقدم به نائبان عن “أمل”، هما علي حسن خليل وغازي زعيتر، حيث اتهما القاضي بأنه “خالف الأصول الدستورية، وتخطى صلاحيات مجلس النواب والمجلس الأعلى لمحاكمة الرؤساء والوزراء”.
وثمة مخاوف في الأوساط السياسية اللبنانية من أن ملف التحقيق في انفجار المرفأ قد يفجر الوضع السياسي والحكومي، في ظل تقارير إعلامية عن أن البيطار يتجه لاتهام جماعة “حزب الله”.
والإثنين، اعتبر الأمين العام لـ”حزب الله”، حسن نصر الله، أن عمل البيطار “فيه استهداف سياسي ولا علاقة له بالعدالة”.
وأعلنت الرئاسة اللبنانية تأجيل جلسة لمجلس الوزراء كانت مقررة الأربعاء. وبينما لم تذكر الرئاسة سببا للتأجيل.
وقال مصدر مطلع للأناضول إن التأجيل جاء بعد أن طالب وزراء “حزب الله” و”أمل” بـ”حث الملابسات المحيطة بالتحقيق في انفجار مرفأ، واتخاذ موقف مما يدور حول هذه المسألة”.
وفي 4 أغسطس/ آب 2020، وقع انفجار هائل في المرفأ، ما أودى بحياة 217 شخصا وأصاب نحو 7 آلاف آخرين، فضلا عن أضرار مادية هائلة في أبنية سكنية وتجارية.
ووفق معلومات رسمية أولية، وقع الانفجار في العنبر رقم 12 من المرفأ، الذي تقول السلطات إنه كان يحوي نحو 2750 طنا من مادة “نترات الأمونيوم”، كانت مصادرة من سفينة ومخزنة منذ عام 2014.
