Konstantin Troivtsev, senior researcher at the Russian Oriental Institute, described the relationship between the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and Russia as today at its best of times.
The Russian researcher said that the Turkish threats to launch a new operation in northern Syria face several challenges that did not exist during the past attacks, foremost of which is the decisive Russian opposition to any new Turkish operation.
In a statement to North-Press Agency, Troivtsev expected that Russia would confront any Turkish attack on areas in Manbij, Tal Rifaat or Kobani.
He explained that coordination between the SDF and the Russian side is constantly progressing, and its level has risen after the increase in the Russian presence in the SDF-controlled areas, pointing at the same time to the coordination that Moscow is doing as a mediator between the regime and the Syrian Democratic Council.
