The United States of America has expressed concern over reports of a meeting between Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and UAE Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
The US State Department spokesman, Ned Price, said in his daily briefing, “The US administration does not support any efforts to float the Assad regime, and we call on countries to look at the atrocities committed by this regime.”
Price affirmed that his country will not normalize relations with the Syrian regime, and said: “We will not normalize our relations or raise the level of these relations with the Assad regime due to the brutal acts committed by the regime against its people.”
The US official added that Washington is committed to “working with partners to reach a solution to the conflict in Syria,” stressing that “peace will return to Syria when the hopes of the Syrian people are fulfilled.”
The spokesman also stressed that the United States is focusing on several goals in Syria, foremost of which is “expanding humanitarian access, continuing efforts to fight ISIS in Syria, holding the Syrian regime accountable, and maintaining the ceasefire.”

ABD’li yetkili, Washington’un “Suriye’deki çatışmaya bir çözüme ulaşmak için ortaklarla birlikte çalışmaya” kararlı olduğunu belirterek, “Suriye halkının umutları gerçekleştiğinde barışın Suriye’ye döneceğini” vurguladı.
Sözcü ayrıca, ABD’nin Suriye’de, başta “insani erişimi genişletmek, Suriye’de IŞİD ile mücadele çabalarını sürdürmek, Suriye rejimini sorumlu tutmak ve ateşkesi sürdürmek” olmak üzere çeşitli hedeflere odaklandığını vurguladı.

أعربت الولايات المتحدة الأميركية عن قلقها إزاء تقارير عن اجتماع بين رئيس النظام السوري بشار الأسد ووزير خارجية الإمارات الشيخ عبد الله بن زايد آل نهيان.
وقال المتحدث باسم الخارجية الأميركية، نيد برايس، في إفادته اليومية، إن “الإدارة الأميركية لا تدعم أي جهود لتعويم نظام الأسد وندعو الدول إلى النظر إلى الأعمال الوحشية التي ارتكبها هذا النظام”.
وأكد “برايس” أن بلاده لن تقوم بتطبيع العلاقات مع النظام السوري، وقال:”لن نطبع علاقاتنا أو نرفع مستوى هذه العلاقات مع نظام الأسد نظراً للأعمال الوحشية التي ارتكبها النظام ضد شعبه”.
وأضاف المسؤول الأميركي أن واشنطن ملتزمة “بالعمل مع الشركاء للوصول إلى حل للصراع في سوريا”، مؤكدا أن “السلام سيعود إلى سوريا عندما تتحقق آمال الشعب السوري”.
كما شدد المتحدث على أن الولايات المتحدة تركز على عدة أهداف في سوريا، على رأسها “توسيع وصول المساعدات الإنسانية، ومواصلة جهود قتال داعش في سوريا ومحاسبة النظام السوري والمحافظة على وقف النار”.
