Riad Darrar, the co-chair of the Syrian Democratic Council, said that the Syrian regime still believes that it is victorious and hopes to restore the decision in all Syrian regions.
In statements to Al-Hol.net, “Darar” attributed the reason for the regime’s intransigence to its dependence on the countries that support it and its feeling that these countries will bring it to full control of all areas. He said: “The regime is indifferent to the negotiating parties and is waiting, through pressure, that we surrender to it.”
“Darar” denied the visit of a delegation from the Syrian Democratic Council to Moscow, pointing out that the meetings with the Russian side are taking place at home, without mentioning additional details.
He explained that “the papers presented by Russia so far are always in favor of the regime, and there is nothing useful.”
He expressed his belief that “Moscow is adopting pressure to reach concessions in favor of the regime, although it is hoping for some gains from the negotiating party.”
“Darar” played down the possibility of Moscow’s efforts to achieve results, expressing his belief that “these methods, by using pressure to reach concessions, cannot serve if they are not with the presence of other guarantors.”

وأرجع “درار” في تصريحات لموقع “الحل نت” سبب تعنت النظام إلى اعتماده على الدول الداعمة له وشعوره بأن هذه الدول سيوصلونه إلى السيطرة الكاملة على كافة المناطق وقال :”النظام غير مبال بالأطراف المفاوضة وينتظر عبر الضغط، أن نستسلم له”.
ونفى “درار” زيارة وفد من مجلس سوريا الديمقراطية إلى موسكو، مشيراً إلى أن اللقاءات مع الجانب الروسي تتم في الداخل، دون ذكر تفاصيل إضافية.
وأوضح أن “الأوراق المطروحة من قبل روسيا حتى الآن هي لصالح النظام دائما، ولا يوجد شيء مفيد”.
وعبر عن اعتقاده أن “موسكو تعتمد ممارسة الضغط للوصول إلى تنازلات لصالح النظام وإن كانت تؤمل الطرف المفاوض ببعض المكاسب”.
وقلل “درار” من احتمالية نجاح مساع موسكو في تحقيق نتائج، معبرا عن اعتقاده “أن هذه الأساليب، عبر استخدام الضغط للوصول إلى تنازلات، لا يمكن أن تخدم إذا لم تكن مع وجود ضامنين آخرين”.
