Informed sources revealed a visit by a US State Department delegation led by Ethan Goldrich, Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs, accompanied by a number of diplomats and military leaders, to the areas of northeastern Syria.
The delegation held two separate meetings with the leadership of the SDF and the Autonomous Administration. According to a statement posted on the SDF website, Goldrich first met with Mazloum Abdi, and Ilham Ahmed, the head of the executive body of the Syrian Democratic Council.
He indicated that several files related to joint action to combat ISIS, calm and stabilization in the region were discussed, in addition to the de-escalation agreement and respect for the current ceasefire.
Informed sources indicated that the talks touched on violations that affect the humanitarian situation and support the stability of the areas liberated from ISIS control within a safe environment, and the countries of the world return their citizens from the detained ISIS elements or their families in north and east Syria.
